Admittedly TCP is “outdated” as well, but it just allows so many possibilities and actually quite a few modern games still have LAN functionality. We’re not asking for open bnet to come back, that’s from a bygone era. Yep, a lot of people seem to conflate TCP/IP with the hacking that occured on open bnet, when they were completely separate. Players have been brainwashed into believing that tcp/ip = cheating. Problem is that people don’t even realize what they’ve lost. That’s what I’ve been saying ever since they removed it. I’ve got some friends that’d like to play together with SP characters, maybe try out some cool mods together but they took that opportunity from us. TCP/IP would not be the cause for duping/botting/cheating on Battle-net. I really want to scream out because of the sheer stupidity of that assumption. I am shocked by how many people believe that allowing TCP/IP would allow duping/cheats. I don’t think they’ll ever put TCP/IP back, they removed using stupid excuses like security concerns, I think they just want to avoid an alternate multiplayer scene out of Battle-net. I’ve 2 or 3 friends with Diablo II Resurrected, we all played in SP, we could have played all together.
